1. What type of advise do you give about nutrition?
A lot of confusing information exists about nutrition today.   We know proper nutrition plays an important role in promoting health and preventing disease. Studies have shown how a healthy diet can reduce the risk of debilitating diseases such as cardiovascular disease, stroke, and cancer. Dr. McReynolds takes a common sense approach to nutrition and recommends eating a healthy and well balanced diet. A few basic comments on nutrition a provided below.

2. What is a "Healthy Diet?"

A healthy diet is one that:

• Emphasizes fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and fat-free milk products (limited dairy, if any)

• Includes fish, beans, eggs, and nuts(limited lean meat, poultry if any); and

• Is low in saturated fats, trans fats, cholesterol, salt (sodium), and added sugars.

• Whenever possible, eat unprocessed and organic foods.

3. Why should I eat whole foods?
The more scientists learn about nutrition and the human body, the more they realize the importance of eating whole foods. For example,

Whole foods are your best sources of vitamins and minerals.   They offer many benefits over supplements:

• Whole foods are complex so they contain many micronutrients your body needs, not just one.   Oranges contain not only vitamin C, but also beta carotene, calcium and other nutrients.   A vitamin C supplement lacks these other nutrients.

• Whole foods provide dietary fiber which is important for digestion and can help prevent cancer, diabetes and heart disease.   Adequate fiber can also help prevent constipation.

• Fruits and vegetables contain phytonutrients/phytochemicals , which may help protect against cancer, heart disease, diabetes and high blood pressure.   They are also good sources of antioxidants, which slow down cell and tissue damage.

4. Should I supplement?
Yes. Here's why everyone should supplement:

•Most people are not getting the nutrients they need today. With the modern pace of life many say they are “too busy” to eat right or they simply make poor food choices, which often means eating a lot of processed food. It’s estimated that 77% of people eat less than 5 small servings of fruits and vegetables a day!

•In addition, our croplands are depleted, so even when we are eating optimally, our soils are not providing us with the nutrients we need.

5. How should I supplement?
Unfortunately, vitamins alone can’t begin to replace the thousands of different nutrients found in fresh fruits and vegetables. Studies show that pill supplements don't have the same preventive effects as their whole food counterparts, which provide a complex of nutrients that single supplements can't replicate.

Dr. McReynolds recommends "Essential Daily Nutrients", a high–potency, multinutrient liquid supplement. Essential Daily Nutrients help replenish your body with a full spectrum of high-potency vitamins, minerals, polyphenols, and herbs in a whole-food base of Goji, Acai, and other exotic fruits.

6. Why do we need to cleanse?
We change the oil in our cars. We clean our homes. Every day we brush our teeth, and wash our hair and bodies. Yet, in our culture, little importance has been given to regular cleansing of our insides.

Every day we are exposed to toxins in the air we breathe and the water we drink. Our household cleaning and personal products are filled with contaminants. The foods we eat are laced with pesticides, preservatives and chemicals. Now, more than ever we need to cleanse to help prevent disease and obtain optimal health.

When your digestive system is toxic, it becomes sluggish, your metabolism slows down, and your energy levels drop. The body responds to excess toxins by: 1)Wrapping the toxins in the fat to protect the rest of your body from them. 2)Retaining fluids in an effort to dilute the toxins. This stresses the kidneys and heart and leads to high blood pressure.

When you cleanse, you get rid of body toxins naturally, and fat production slows. If you are normal or underweight it is still important to cleanse. The less fat you have the more likely toxins are going right to your organs leading to adverse affects on our bodies.

Scientists have linked these toxins to illness and diseases including:

-Cancer
-Autoimmune disease
-Neurological disease
-Cardiovascular disease
-Kidney Disease
-Lung disease
-Weakened immune system
-Fatigue
-Headaches

7. What methods does Dr. McReynolds recommend to cleanse and detoxify?
Dr. McReynolds offers 3 methods to cleanse and detoxify:

1) Isagenix
Isagenix is a high quality, all natural line of products designed for cleansing and rejuvenation. This synergistically designed program cleanses the vital organs of the body without being invasive or depleting.

The 9-day program is designed to help you lose excess weight, build lean muscle mass and support your body's innate healing and regenerative properties while cleansing.

Isagenix is effective for weight loss because it is a cleansing program. Toxins are stored in fat so as you cleanse, impurities are eliminated as excess fat is dissolved. If you are normal or underweight it is still important to cleanse. The less fat you have the more likely toxins are going right to your organs.

For more information on Isagenix, please call the office 512-863-4722 or click here.

2) Natural Cellular Defense
Natural Cellular Defense (NCD) is a naturally occurring mineral called zeolite, formed from the fusion of lava and ocean water. It comes in a liquid form and is virtuously tasteless, odorless, and is easily consumed with water.

ZEOLITES in NCD have a unique, negatively charged crystalline-like structure. These negatively charged minerals act as magnets, which draw out heavy metals and toxins (such as pesticides, herbicides, and other cancer-causing chemicals), capturing them in it’s cage and then remove them from the body.

For more information on NCD, call the office 512-863-4722 or click here.

3) Juice Fasting
Juice fasting is a form of fasting in which organic juice supplies live enzymes and micronutrients that further aid the cleansing process. Juices are high in minerals, vitamins and enzymes, which help to rejuvenate the body. Many people ask, “Why should I eliminate the fiber in fruits and vegetable and just drink juice?” Juice is assimilated directly into the body with minimal stimulation of digestive enzymes. By allowing the bowel to rest, energy can be used to detoxify the body. The alkalinizing properties of many juices help to neutralize acidic conditions and assist toxin release.
